This midterm conference is guided by an extensive pre-work done by the student (the Writing Assessment Activity on the Sample Lessons page explains this assignment in detail). This file is not the complete conference, only about five minutes of the session. In this one-on-one conference, we discuss how the student is progressing in his writing and in his assessment practices. The file is not the complete conference, only about six minutes of the session. This conference focuses on the course portfolio and the student’s evaluation of her work. I ask each student to bring an evaluation write-up based on the portfolio rubric (outlined in our handout), which allows her to guide our conference.
