Welcome Statement

This portfolio contains a wide range of materials from my life as a scholar and teacher. You may browse the site, or take a guided tour, which will lead you through a series of sections and documents in this portfolio. Just follow the "[ continue the guided tour ]" links on each page.

The tour explains and illustrates one small way I use writing and student-driven assessment to help students become more critical of their discourses. There are six main stops:
  1. my goals for a typical writing course,
  2. an explanation of writing and assessment practices,
  3. the main design features in my writing courses,
  4. a midterm writing and assessment activity,
  5. a student conference using the activity, and
  6. a brief reflection on this guided tour.
